You will find when calculating your total there is an E-Commerce Surcharge. This is the the amount we have to pay to have credit cards processed. We have not increased our prices in 15 years despite the increased prices in materials to produce the books and software, shipping materials and postage costs. We thought it would be best to defray these new costs of doing business by credit card on the internet in this manner. A check can always be sent or a Money order to save yourself these charges because that also saves us paying the charges. We are hoping this is the easiest solution to the problems being faces by small merchants.
We are a very small specialized Publishing Company and we print in very small batches, making it impossible for us to discount our publications. We also have the added charges of doing a mail order business, ie. website charges, credit card charges, packing and shipping material costs etc. Mega Stores like Barnes & Noble can buy in larger lots thereby saving a great deal. We wish we could match their prices but it is not possible for us to do this. If we had their volume of sales then of course it would be an entirely different story.

The company was founded in California in 1983 by Carol A. Wiggers. We then moved to Texas and finally to Washington State and have been here for 17 years. We specialize in reference books and educational materials for horary astrologers at every level, from student to professional. Our emphasis is even more specialized than that description suggests, for we advocate traditional horary, as practiced in the 17th Century by the English astrologer William Lilly, who translated, compiled, and tested the works of ancient authorities.
We have been asked why we have gone to all the trouble of providing these books for our students and astrology lovers. Well, the only way to answer that is "our love for this form of astrology". Our books are NOT FASCIMILE COPIES. Each book has been retyped , the diagrams redrawn and are paperback bound for easy handling. We have found with our students that they love these books because they lay flat and are so easy to work with. The printing is large and easy to read, after all why should you have to spend time studying and end up with eye strain also! We have tried to make life a little easier for our students. These books are meant for the serious student, they are meant to be used, not to sit on the shelf and look pretty, but untouched.
In 1989 we began publication of THE HORARY PRACTITIONER, the only journal of its kind, a quarterly publication of rules and example charts that bring traditional horary to life. We designed the journal so that it would remain a significant source of information.
We are a publish on demand company and in order to exist we must have a no refund, no return policy. We realize that this is not the best customer service situation but with only 2 people doing all the work we have no choice. In 20 years we have not raised our prices and we hope to keep it that way despite the fact that expenses in every area are increasing every day. We so not have a live person to answer the phone, and we try to handle the e-mail and fax as soon as it comes in. Please be patient with us and we will give you the best in Horary Astrology possible!
